Products, categories, and modifiers

Written by Glen Despaux

Products

Products is your catalog. Add each item you sell with a clear name, price, and any options your store uses (for example size or variant).

Tips

  • Use consistent naming so staff can search quickly at the register.

  • Set accurate prices before you go live; price changes may be tracked in reporting.

Categories

Categories group products for faster browsing on the register and cleaner reporting. Create broad groups first (for example “Drinks,” “Apparel”), then refine if needed.

Modifiers

Modifiers are add-ons or choices attached to products (for example “Extra shot,” “No ice”). Link them to the right products so the register shows the correct choices at checkout.

Related

  • Inventory logs and Pricing logs help you review changes over time (if you have access under the main menu).

If a product doesn’t appear on the register, check that it’s active, correctly categorized, and that you’re on the right location if your store uses location-specific catalog rules.
